UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Statement on the Passing of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor

Washington, DC (December 1, 2023) -- George Vradenburg, chair and co-founder of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, issued the following statement following the death of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor:

“America is a better place because of Justice O’Connor. Not only did she make history as the first woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court, but she was also a strong advocate in the fight against Alzheimer’s. In fact, Justice O’Connor was right there with us as we launched UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. Sadly, this disease had a tragic impact on her own life: first taking her husband’s life, and now hers. We will miss her clarion call for action and send our deepest condolences to her family as they mourn the loss of this incredible woman.”
