Washington, DC (April 10, 2024) — UsAgainstAlzheimer’s released the following statement in response to the appointment of U.S. Rep. Tom Cole as the new House Appropriations Chair:
“Representative Tom Cole has remained a steadfast champion for increased investment in Alzheimer’s disease research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
“Congressman Cole understands the importance of federal funding for medical research, particularly in the realm of Alzheimer’s, to ensure that America remains at the forefront of scientific discovery and progress. Under his leadership, funding for Alzheimer’s research at the NIH has seen a remarkable increase, aligning with current scientific opportunities in this field.
“UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is proud of its past collaborations with Congressman Cole during his time as both Chair and Raking Member of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHSSE) Subcommittee.
